Our Team

  • Sarah S. Briggs LPC, RPT-S

Sarah is a Virginia State Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S). Sarah received her M.A. and Ed.S. in Counseling from James Madison University and worked in Richmond Virginia before practicing in the Fairfax area. She treats adults, children, and their families and has specialized training in play therapy, expressive art therapy and trauma and loss issues. Sarah has public speaking experience on topics of parenting, adolescents, and trauma.

Counseling Experience

Sarah's counseling experience includes agency work as a senior case manager, overseeing service development and implementation as well as providing individual, family, and group outpatient therapy to sexually abused children and their families. She also provides supervision and consultation to other agency clinicians and interns. Sarah has experience providing outpatient counseling, through the use of play therapy, to children who have experienced family violence. She also conducted clinical assessments, provided individual and family counseling, and coordinated and facilitated therapeutic support/educational groups aimed at reducing the risk of child abuse and neglect. Sarah also provided outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families, and facilitated group therapy for children and adults around mental health and substance abuse issues.
