  • Christina Almeyda, MFT Intern

Christina Almeyda is a therapist intern and 2020 Master of Science candidate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Virginia Tech. She provides therapy to individuals, couples, and families. Christina utilizes various therapeutic interventions to treat children, adolescents, and adults who experience challenges with anxiety, depression, and behavior problems, as well as couples and families experiencing relational issues.

Counseling Experience

Christina has worked at Virginia Tech's Center for Family Services in Falls Church, VA where she was trained to use a systemic lens to treat individuals, couples, and families. Being bilingual, Christina has provided therapeutic services in both English and Spanish. She has also worked on Juntos en Pareja, the Spanish version of the Together Program, a program geared towards helping couples cope with stress. Christina's uses a collaborative, client-centered, and strengths-based approach to therapy to help her clients meet their goals.
